Rose Marie is survived by her son Wayne J. Halpern, Jr. of Tamarac, Florida and her sister Shirley Ann Mallory of Lexington, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her son Charles Anthony "Tony" Buffalo and her brother Fred William Becker, Jr. Rose Marie was born on February 14, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to Fred William and Grace Santa (Natoli) Becker. Her deep faith and dedication to service were nurtured by the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood during her six years at Saint Domenico's Italian Orphan Home, also in St. Louis. Moving with her family to Florida in 1950, she graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1954. She then worked in banking until she became a full-time mother and homemaker. Rose Marie tirelessly pursued perfection in all she did. Her greatest passion was her devotion to her two fortunate sons. She was a loyal sister, daughter and friend to many. She "never met a stranger," accepting all she encountered with the same warmth and interest. She and her son Tony raised 7 dogs, including a champion show dog, and were competitive growers in the South Florida Bromeliad Society for over 20 years. Right up through her 87th birthday she was reluctant to sit, preferring to serve others in whatever way she could.
